Death Cab for Cutie's Kintsugi

This is the first DCfC album that I immediately did not take to. Maybe it's because there were times I felt some of the material was re-hashed from old songs and albums. For example, "The Ghosts of Beverly Drive" had that intro reminiscent of The Photo Album's "We Laugh Indoors". I like it though.

It took the fourth listen before I started to like it. I don't think it ranks as anywhere in the top DCfC albums but it isn't so bad. Maybe it's a little too slow and melancholic for my tastes. I kinda feel that we've been down this road before with this band.

This is the first album that Chris Walla did not produce and his last album as a member of the band.
