Back in the late 1980s, my dad called me into their room to watch this show titled Solid Gold. That was my introduction to Dionne Warwick. I had heard her songs on the radio or on my dad's turntable but that was my first to see her on television. And we regularly watched that show (I have to admit that I also watched it for the Solid Gold dancers) and became a fan of Dionne.
I later on purchased my own Dionne Warwick records and compact discs. I finally got to see her in Las Vegas much later but that was highly memorable. The Manila show was my second to see her. And though older and hampered by a bad cold, she was like vintage wine.
