Never got to see them live but I did see their splinter bands -- the Mars Volta and Sparta years later.
When I first heard Relationship of Command, I was completely blown away. Of the splinter bands, I thought Sparta sounded closer, but the Mars Volta took ATDI's sound to the next level.
