With the members of Trop Dep at 70's Bistro, April 11, 2017. From left to right: Burn Belacho, Bong "Lennon" Eudela, Pex Holigores, JR Oca, and Brutus Lacano. Missing from the show was original keyboardist TJ Espinola.
I cannot begin to tell you how great it was to see the band again. The last time I saw them perform live was during the promotions for their second album.
The power, solid musicianship, and performance were as great as ever.
The late Papadom (Dominic Gamboa) was a very good friend and schoolmate of mine at the Ateneo (before he moved to La Salle Lipa for high school). We also became neighbors in Cubao where we both lived a few minutes away from the old Club Dredd. I frequented his home where we'd talk dogs and music.
Watch for my article on Sunday about Trop Dep.
