Some old Filipino guitar bands: RJ & the Riots and the Electromaniacs.

These two records are the oldest OPM records in my collection.

The Teenage Touch of RJ and the Riots was the first release by this band and it came out in 1961. Jose Mari's Electromaniacs came out with Lover's Guitar a year later. This was the era when guitar instrumental bands such as the Shadows and the Ventures popularized this form of music. And RJ and the Riots and the Electromaniacs were among the first Philippine bands to follow suit.

How does their music stand the test of time? Well, it does sound dated but you know what.... I think it's still cool. Love it. Am happy to have them in my collection.
